Your Locally Trusted Mold Remediation Company

Assistance for Victims

Once you’ve reported your loss to one of our restoration specialists, The Restoration Group will get in touch with you to arrange an initial inspection within 60 minutes. It is not necessary to contact your insurance company before this initial inspection. If a claim is deemed necessary after the inspection, our team will assist you in initiating and filing a claim with your insurance company.

Pre-Inspection

If the impacted area exceeds 10 square feet, as per IICRC Industry guidelines, The Restoration Group requires you to schedule an inspection with a Certified Environmental Hygienist. The Hygienist will conduct an inspection, prepare a report, and outline a protocol for our team to follow in order to effectively remediate mold from your property.

Estimate & Contract

With insurance coverage, our team will create an estimate based on the details outlined in the Environmental Hygienist’s scope of work and submit it to your insurance company. A contract will then be offered to you based on the proposed estimate, covering payment terms and draws throughout the mold remediation process.

Remediation & Air Purification

Upon signing the contract and adhering to the Hygienist’s report, The Restoration Group’s certified team will commence the remediation process. This detailed process involves thorough scrubbing/cleaning, demolition, and air purification, all while following established protocols and utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). With years of experience and advanced equipment, The Restoration Group can restore your property to a safe and healthy living standard.

Wrap Up

A final walkthrough will occur on the day of equipment pickup to address any concerns and questions. Post-inspection by the Hygienist is recommended within 48 hours of completing the mold remediation.

Mold Removal & Mold Remediation Process

Emergency Response

Mold growth can spread throughout a building in a matter of days, so any delays to the response can be costly. Whenever you call us with mold damage, we will respond immediately by sending an IICRC technician to your property to assess the situation.

Air Quality Testing

Before we do anything else, we will need to have the air in the affected area tested, along with outside air, to compare the samples and understand what types of mold we are dealing with. This information is vital for a successful mold remediation, and will allow us to use the best techniques to remove the mold.

Containment

Because mole is travels through the air, when removing the mold damaged materials, large quantities of mold spores will be released into the air and without a proper containment barrier established, the rest of your property will be at risk. Our team will establish a plastic sheet containment area with HEPA filters and air blowers creating a negative pressure and stopping any mold spores from escaping.

Mold Removal

Once our containment barrier is established, our team, wearing the appropriate PPE, will begin to mark the damaged materials and begin removing those materials strategically. Following the most recently approved guidelines for mold removal and disposal.

Clean Up & Decontamination

Once the mold damage has been removed and disposed of, our team will shift the focus to cleaning up the affected area, and then diligently wiping down any surface in the containment area with a disinfectant. Once everything has been cleaned we can take down the containment barrier and begin making any repairs.

Common Questions About Mold

What is mold, and why is it growing on my property?

Mold grows by releasing spores into the air. Spores are invisible to the naked eye and can spread and grow to create colonies anywhere in the home as long as moisture and oxygen are present. These colonies may produce allergens and irritants and have the potential to cause other health effects.

How can I eliminate mold?

Mold occurs naturally and there is no practical way to eliminate all mold and mold spores in an indoor environment; the way to control indoor mold growth is to control moisture.

Mold Insurance

Does Homeowners Insurance Cover Mold Damage?

Due to the nature of mold growth, the insurance coverage that you may receive can vary significantly. Your average homeowner’s insurance plan will provide mold damage coverage if the mold was a result of previously covered water damage. But if the mold is a result of negligence or lack of upkeep, chances are that you will have a tough time getting covered for the damages.

In any situation where you are left wondering what is or isn’t covered by your insurance plan, we urge you to call your provider and ask them to walk you through your specific coverages.
